Yes...this is ALL about me, and mine. Marvellously self indulgent, feel free to tell me how splendid I am, leave comments, nice ones please, I have little kids and teenagers who can do the rude stuff. I am a grandma, to the glorious Joshua, I'm allowed to look frazzled and weary, I earned it. The older I get, the more I see that hanging on and being patient is worth it! They ( whoever 'they' are) are so right when they say you never know what is around the corner, it isn't always an articulated truck! It is vital to make the time for making memories, friends are the greatest treasure, I love mine. I am rich!

Home again, home again, Jiggedy jig.

We are home, awake for 28 hours, even my hair aches, I am trying to stay awake until I would normally go to bed ( although I did crash for 3 hours earlier!)
At the airport yesterday they told us that the flight was over booked and said that if we agreed to fly today they would pay a hotel, give us dinner vouchers and 2 return flight packages to anywhere Virgin Atlantic flies, we said yes right away and then they told us that we had to check on, go through security, wait 3 hours and THEN leave again and do it all again today.
Yes, that would be fun!
When they came to ask if we were willing to leave and come back I told them I was done, no way I was going through all that again. I am so happy to be home, I have such fun and love my friends, Cathy is the ultimate hostess, faultless in every way, it is impossible to not to have a great time.
I am touched by how much I was missed here, H has done such a great job of keeping it all together here, it was clean and tidy and was wonderful to come home and smell dinner cooking.
I love this family, Sophie was a total joy when we were away, she is shameless and over the top, loud and completely fabulous, no matter where we were, there was laughter, even on the plane she sat on someones arm and didn't realise until he moved, when she laughed ( and her laugh is SO LOUD) and said " HA!!! I didn't know my bum was even ON your arm til you moved!" he replied " Sheesh, I was BREATHING, I do that sometimes!"
She was chatted up by cab drivers, store workers, random people in the street, her boobs caused near accidents and raised eyebrows, her laugh made others laugh and she can talk the hind leg off a donkey, oh my goodness, she tells every person she meets the ins and outs of a ducks arse, even going through security she tells them every detail, I feel myself shaking my head when some poor innocent person asks her " how was your day?" because she will tell them, from start to finish, bless her heart.
She was great with all the little kids, funny with all the big people and it struck me more than a few times how just 18 months ago, when I first went to Boston how I had to make sure she didn't come back to the house while I was away it isn't the same going anywhere without her ( and it gives me the chance to be so lazy, sit in the background and watch the show)
I have so many tales to tell and hope that my brain and fingers can work together to get it all written down soon! Right now my body aches and I am ready to curl up on the sofa and relax. H is asleep and relaxing for the first time all week, it's good to be appreciated, I certainly appreciate him and don't think I will be leaving him again any time soon.
I am so lucky to be able to do the things I do and then come home to these lovely people.

I love you. I love Sophie. I loved spending the days shopping, laughing and eating out. What I enjoyed the most was you and Sophie, in my kitchen, cooking up dinner. I looked at you both and got so teary eyed knowing that in a couple of days that would be a wonderful memory.

I love and miss you both

I'm so glad you got to go. I'm afraid my meetup days are over so I'm especially glad that I got to meet both of you before being grounded.

Love you both!
